Constructed from high-purity austenitic stainless steel, these collars effectively neutralize electromagnetic interference from the drill string. This ensures highly accurate directional surveys in horizontal and directional drilling operations.
Our proprietary high-strength steel alloys—P530, P530 HS, P550, P580, and P750—deliver proven mechanical properties, exceptional fatigue resistance, and superior corrosion performance. The standard P530 grade is enhanced in our P550 and P580 materials through increased chromium and nitrogen content. This provides greater pitting corrosion resistance and endurance strength for demanding well paths.
Furthermore, our advanced P750 grade offers an extraordinary, competitive alternative to common nickel-based alloys. It maintains high yield strength without the premium cost typically associated with high-performance materials. All collars are manufactured to API Spec 7-1. They are fully compatible with standard drill collar string tools and stabilizers.

Surface Finish and Machining
ShunFu executes comprehensive precision machining for non-magnetic drill string components. External surfaces undergo CNC turning and milling to strict dimensional tolerances. This is followed by roller burnishing and shot peening on connections to enhance fatigue life.
Internally, we utilize BTA boring and long-distance gunhole drilling to achieve precise ID concentricity. We finish with internal shot peening to induce compressive stress and prevent stress corrosion in H2S environments. Laser cladding on 6-axis machines is available for wear pads.
Surface roughness achieves tight Ra values, ensuring compatibility with MWD/LWD tools. This meticulous attention to surface integrity extends the operational lifespan of every Non Magnetic Drill Collar.
Quality Assurance and Inspection
ShunFu operates under an ISO 9001 and API Q1 certified Quality Assurance System. Pre-production involves rigorous chemical composition analysis. During processing, we conduct dimensional checks, metallographic inspections, and in-process UT.
Post-production includes final mechanical testing (yield, tensile, impact, hardness) and full-length Ultrasonic Testing per API standards. We perform specialized hot-spot testing and hammer peening inspections. Material certificates EN 10204 3.1 are standard; 3.2 certificates can be arranged with third-party inspection by SGS or TÜV.
Packing and Shipping
Black-skin and forged collars are securely fastened with steel wire bundling to prevent container damage during transit. For bright-finish and precision-machined drill collars, we apply multiple layers of protective wrapping to preserve surface roughness and dimensional integrity.
All materials are coated with anti-rust oil. This guarantees complete protection against corrosion during maritime shipping, ensuring the Non Magnetic Drill Collar arrives at the rig site in optimal condition.
